Hi guys! I'm a recent convert from fedora and I'm still trying to get things set up.
My current problem is when I try to play online music. I have flash installed, and youtube videos work, but music doesn't. When I try to play a song, I get these errors from alsa:

Interestingly, these errors show up in my root terminal, NOT my regular user terminal, where I ran firefox from.
And I have used alsaconf to configure my sound card.
This might be a related problem: when I run alsamixer as regular user, I get the error: 'cannot open mixer: No such file or directory'
